Volunteer with Gladney

You don't have to have experience in social services or be a parent to get involved with the cause of adoption and Gladney. There are lots of ways to use your time and talents to serve the Gladney community, and we are both grateful and excited to see the impact you can make in the life of a child. Helping around our facilities, making holidays feel magical, and assisting with special events are just a few of the ways our volunteers help to make the lives of children better. Whether you want to volunteer as an individual or as a part of a group, we promise your time at Gladney will be fulfilling and worthwhile.

Specialized Volunteer Opportunities

Gladney Home Volunteers
The Gladney Home is our on-site group home for pre-teen and teenage girls in the Texas state foster care system. We need volunteers to help with daily meal preparation, homework, tutoring, and mentoring. Most of all, we need adults who can show our residents love and compassion and help our staff create an atmosphere of normalcy. Gladney Home volunteers are expected to dedicate ongoing, regular time to the role, as well as complete some specialized training.

Gladney Ambassadors
Gladney Ambassadors help connect Gladney Families and advocate for the cause of adoption in their local communities across the United States. From Florida to Washington, whether it’s planning a family fun event, running a marathon, or connecting Gladney to local organizations, Ambassadors carry the cause of adoption and mission of Gladney wherever they go.

Gladney Family Mentors
The adoption process can be challenging, and sometimes families need someone with experience to listen and be a friend. That’s exactly what Gladney Family Mentors do. Gladney Family Mentors offer friendship and an empathetic ear to families who are currently pursuing adoption through one of Gladney’s adoption programs. Because experience is important, Gladney Family Mentors need to be Gladney Parents who’ve had a little time since they finalized their adoption and can handle up to 3 hours of communication a week with one or more Mentee Families. Gladney Families can apply to be Mentors by using a notebook or desktop computer to log into their MyGladney Portal and clicking the “Become a Mentor” tab at the top of the page. All Gladney Families, whether they’ve used it or not, have access to a MyGladney Portal. If you’ve never signed in, click “recover account.” If you’ve forgotten your password, click “forgot password.”
